  1. D&C 98:5-6

    And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me. Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land;

    D&C 101:77,80

According to the laws and constitution of the people, which I have suffered to be established, and should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles;…And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood.

Looks like Ron Paul has quite the endorsement there :)

  2. However, he is a racist. He won’t admit it, but he is in favor of segregation and want to repeal the civil rights amendment.

I thought what he said about avoiding the Civil War made sense. He said that all the European countries (and maybe countries in North America–I’m not clear exactly) had abolished slavery without war and that we should have not fought the war and let slavery die out naturally.

    I don’t know if he’s correct, but I wonder.

I’d never vote for him based on his statements re civil rights, though.

  3. Annegb…

I think your accusations of racism are ludicrous from the use of that statement. Do you realize what you have just said?

You have basically said that some who belives in liberty and civil rights for all doesnt ACTUALLY believe in liberty and civil rights for all! How oxymoronic!

I personally hope for peace between the israelis and the palestinians and I hope that it can be done democratically without war. Does that mean I am an anti-semite? Or anti-muslim?

That statements you have paraphrased definitely do not mean that someone is racist.

At the end of the day we all must wake up to reality. The threat of terrorism is worse now since the “war on terror” was declared by Bush. Both the CIA and British Intelligence agree to this. The constitution of America really is hanging by a thread. America is slipping into a soft form of facism according to Roosevelt’s definition of such. The corporate elites has been completely overpowered by pride, greed and love of power.

America is a great country and I believe that the constitution is divinely inspired…and we see that since the second world war it has been gradually discarded to the point where, I think, Jefferson and many of the founding fathers would be horrified.

Now you all have guns…and you are entitled to a revolution under the constitution…however I hope that change can occur democratically and peacefully…

Does that mean I am anti-american now?

    Ron Paul….or Jesus comes again soon… :-)

    Cheers,
    Steve

  4. Ron Paul is the only candidate who comes from a principled, reasoned stand. He is the only candidate who actually knows and respects the constitution. And he is the only candidate who offers specific and workable solutions.
Paul certainly has enough of the powers-that-be against him, including both parties and the media, but I’m glad that his message is getting out and resonating with so many people. I plan on voting for him in November, whether he’s on the ballot or not – he is the only candidate for whom I can vote in good conscience.

  5. John,
I like a lot of what I hear about Ron Paul too. However, before you jump on his bandwagon I think you should read This There is more to Ron Paul than meets the eye.

  6. The “letters” proving Ron Paul’s racism have been debunked. None of the comments were written by his own hand and those that were, were taken out of context. Ron Paul has been recorded on audio and video thousands of times. If he was really a racist, you’s think he would have screwed up at least once over the last 25 years with a gotcha moment, but I defy you to find even one. Ron Paul is one of the most kind, genuine, and gracious men I have ever known. I do not personally believe there is a racist bone in his body. …and yes….I know him.

  7. Ron Paul was the only candidate who truly follows and defends the Constitution.

Remember what the First Presidency urged us to do back in 1964, to support political candidates ‘who are truly dedicated to the Constitution in the tradition of our Founding Fathers.’

Mormons all around the nation should be coalescing behind Ron Paul.

  8. Ron Paul is right on. I don’t mean right in the republican sense either… :o)

I will continue to vote for him instead of more of the same as long as he’ll run! His son looks promising!
