  1. At the 4:43 mark you will see a United States Marine (reservist) make an analogy using child birth while his newborn is in the NICU. What is so breathtakingly shocking is how oblivious he is to Marine Corps history and how unintentionally apt his argument becomes. It is clear he and his wife didn’t conceive their baby on Camp Lejeune, their baby wasn’t delivered at the Naval Hospital on base, nor was their entire family forced to drink the water. It is of no concern of mine if he doesn’t listen to former members, however he is absolutely obligated to listen to former Marines and their dependents who suffered and died under the gross and blatant negligence of the Marine Corps. For those of you with the stomach to listen to an hour of stories of dead babies, I ask you to sit with the Baby Heaven cemetery at Camp Lejeune. The parallels between the military and church leadership are nearly identical. I can say unequivocally that the Paul brothers have unambiguously shown the talent needed to succeed in both arenas.

  2. Millennials Defend Mormonism – Hayden & Jackson Paul episode. What a tough listen. I can often listen to active believers who don’t know about historical facts and issues with truth claims, but I really had to force myself to stay with the mental gymnastics of a member who can so easily dismiss basic Mormon beliefs like 1) Do prophets speak for God?, 2) Is the Book of Mormon true in its historical statements and claims?, and 3) Did God create all mankind and everything in the universe? for the sake of trying to score debate points. The “roots” vs. “branches” tact is a new one for me. Roots appear to be who God and we actually are (apparently He didn’t create us – new one for me) and other eternal truths that set the chessboard upon which God and the whole universe operates. They didn’t seem to get the “I wouldn’t beat, torture, and kill one of my kids to save my other kids” line of logic. I liked the “How would you design it [the plan of salvation]?” question back at a host. That seemed to be if you don’t have a better plan than you can’t criticize ours. I thought non-members were supposed the be the ones with moral relativism. They made Mormon apologetics seem to have truth relativism. Simple statements like “The Book of Mormon is true”. come with so many twists and turns.. “true, but not quite historically, and not chronologically, or genetically.” Geez. I forced myself to see where they could ever land the ship, but it seems to be still floating around in the heavens – the ones that God did create.

  3. Wow. Can’t wait for the a Paul brothers to leave the ChurchCo. by the time they’re 40. This time Jackson will go first.

  4. Have these guys have ever wondered why so many people have fallen away from the LDS faith?

Thousands of people who thought they had built their house upon the rock but it turned out to be a false faith in mortal men.

The teachings of LDS leaders have in many ways been antithetical to the Gospel of Jesus Christ for many decades.

Go listen to Sean mccraney’s early episodes.

More recently, the LDS leaders have been trying to fix this problem by reemphasizing on Jesus Christ but they still teach a false gospel.

  5. This was John and Gerardo at their best! Asking the tough questions and drilling down!

John, such a great point about AofF #12. We are supposed to EXPECT MORE revelation, EXPANSION of our understanding. #12 isn’t talking about the constant and incremental retraction. The church has retracted over a substantial number of teachings, doctrines, etc etc. Things that were previously revealed have been taken away in droves. WTAF!!!

Also, last but not least, kudos to Hayden and Jackson. I respect their resolve, commitment, and integrity. Nice job going up against John and Gerardo.

  6. So convenient that Jackson and Hayden get to decide which teachings are roots and which are the branches.

Why have the modern prohets taken away all the branches that were cultivated by the earlier prophets? Would the older prophets have agreed with Hayden’s and Jackson’s assessment of what is a root and what is a branch? Where is the further light and knowledge? A root structure can’t flourish without a trunk and branches and leaves.

    Ok I’ll stop.
