I know, I know.  You think I’m overdoing it.

But I’m not.

At the risk of building it up too much and spoiling it for the rest of you, "God’s Army 2 – States of Grace" is nothing short of amazing.

This movie hits hard and deep.  It pulls no punches, and it touches on several of the most poignant issues in Mormon history, doctrine, and, most importantly, culture.

I plan/hope to interview Richard Dutcher tomorrow (if we can pull it off), so stay tuned, but please consider going out to the movie theatre over the next few days, and then telling all your friends and family to do the same.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.  I’ve heard that Richard has 2 weeks for this movie to do well, or the theatres are gonna pull it to make room for some of the upcoming blockbusters.

Anyway, I’ll say it again (in a different way): "God’s Army 2: States of Grace" will go down as a true cinematic classic in Mormondom, and is worthy of the title of "great" not just as a Mormon movie, but as a true work of film art.  Please go see this movie tomorrow, and persuade everyone you know to do the same.  If "Blair Witch" can succeed through viral marketing, I’m hopeful that we can help support Richard as well, via the Bloggernacle.

  1. […] I’ve already posted about this movie here, but mark my words– “God’s Army 2: States of Grace” will go down as one of the most important movies ever made in Mollywood (or whatever you want to call it). A truly stunning work of cinema–Mormon, or otherwise. […]

I would love to be able to see the movie, but I guess it will not be here in Florida until next year. I hope it does well. From what I have heard, it is amazing.
