  1. My faith crisis started about 10 months ago when my oldest son started pleading with my husband and I to just listen to him and answer some questions he had. I love my children with all my heart and completely respect them, so, of course, I wanted to hear him out. I could tell he was earnest and sincere in his desire for me to understand him. I then read the CES letter and Letter For My Wife. I started listening to John Dehlin’s Mormon Stories Podcast, as well as a few others. I began reading books like No Man Knows My History, Rough Stone Rolling, In Sacred Loneliness, and now Alyssa Grenfell’s book, How to Leave the Mormon Church. I tried to listen to Apologists like Stephen Murphy, Mormonism with the Murph, and The Come Back Podcast. I desperately did not want to believe the truths I was discovering, as, I’m sure, of course, no one who leaves the LDS church does. I was desperate to find answers for my son, to prove to him that he was mistaken…but the more I dug, the more I studied, the more I realized he was right and I believed a lie for over 50 years. I was devastated and heart-broken. Still am. But there’s no turning back now. I know what I know and I can’t deny it, nor would I want to, I suppose. I would really like to attend a Thrive conference and I know my sons and one of my daughters wants to as well. There is one in November in Lehi, UT that we would like to attend. We live in the Ogden area. I am so grateful for the brave people like John Dehlin, and Nemo the Mormon, Bill Reel, and so many more who want to help us all make educated choices and want to encourage positive change in the LDS church. Thank you all.
