On tonight’s Mormon Newscast program, we take a look at the mixed messages that Conservatives among the faith are struggling with around homosexuality and those who are Transgender. Including the perspectives on Doctrine that some conservative commentaries say are at the base of this issue. We will also examine recent messages from leaders regarding Artificial Intelligence. And we will take a look at recent comments by an apostle that the Church needs to do right by Sexual Assault victims. And our last story revolves around why females can’t pass the Sacrament.

Concerning the discussion at 1:42 about smiling Jesus: You are all hereby called to a cultural disciplinary council to discuss your blatant omission of George Carlin introducing the Buddy Christ for the opening scene of Dogma. It is further evidence that the so called restored church is at least twenty five years behind the Great and Abominable Church in portraying a smiling or laughing Jesus. There is hope, however, that smiling Jesus will become part of our culture if the following Holland quote from a recent funeral is any indication:
“We do not have any scriptures that say He laughed, though we believe He did. We believe He was wonderfully well-rounded, with a majestic personality,” said President Holland. “But we do have scriptures that say He wept.”

Can we get the podcast from Rebecca about the transgender woman who went around SL bearing her testimony? I can’t find it and I’d love to listen
Here you go! https://youtu.be/_9wKrO8jXrU?si=HiGLlZ9zJ6jL6MR7
Can you provide the list of changes to doctrine that was presented at about minute 15? Is it written down somewhere?
Hello, you can start here: https://www.mormonstories.org/truth-claims/mormon-doctrine/doctrinal-changes/

What was the show they referred to in which Rebecca helped interview the faithful youtubers? I think i found the show, but not the episode. Thanks!
Why call your program Mormon Newscast when you’re all anti Mormons? Why not be honest and not try to gaslight your viewers.
We’re sorry you think we are gaslighting our viewers. It’s called “Mormon Newscast” because we cover in the news related to Mormonism. Hopefully that clears things up. 💜
Wow! I’m loving these Mormon Newscast episodes! I enjoy the shorter format and the laser-like focus on current issues that I want to stay updated on. When my son came out as gay in 2009, there were almost NO resources to help me and my husband understand what was happening. All we had were outdated interviews with Dallin H. Oaks in which he tells parents not to be seen in public with their gay child and his/her partner, not to allow the gay child to spend the night at the parental home with his/her partner, etc. Needless to say, these dated approaches did NOT help us. We eventually groped our way toward the light and left the church behind as an institution that is absolutely not what it claims to be. We never questioned our love for and acceptance of our son. We just hoped for a while that there was a way to keep both our son and the church in our lives. When we discovered there wasn’t, we accepted the inevitable–it was time to leave our religious heritage behind. Now, no matter what the church does or doesn’t do, we have learned that they are merely mortal men who are prone to make mistakes and change doctrine/s as they see fit or as they are forced to do by the historical circumstances around them. I’m glad to be out, but leaving was traumatic. I hope the church will continue to move toward a more enlightened understanding of questions around sexuality and gender, but after being forced to deconstruct my “testimony” to survive our son’s reality, it won’t make a bit of difference as to how I view the church.
During the first video Bill kept saying the church disavows . The church uses that word too, but I don’t think it fits. Disavow means to deny any responsibility or support for. So, the church does not say Adam isn’t God, they deny any responsibility for BY saying Adam is God.
This type of thing really bothers me because the church uses “disavow” to trick people into thinking they are changing their doctrine or denying the old teachings, etc., except they are doing no such thing.
