  1. Aha! Maybe the objective to share this space with the racist, oppressive, homophobic corp posing as church is to teach them to be more like Jesus.

  2. Good show. I like the idea of capping it off with a Mormon Media Moment. There’s probably enough content out there to make that a recurring segment, and the doc you plugged looked cative fascinating.

On that topic, I was browsing the Amazon Prime offerings a couple days ago, and I saw a brand new new indie drama called “Provo.” I haven’t seen or heard about it, and know nothing about it outside of the trailer that I watched. But it looks like it could potentially be very interesting & relevant. I’m surprised that I hadn’t heard about it through any of the regular channels. Might be worth looking into, if you need any more Mormon Media Moment content.

  3. But what influence will the Mormon church end up having on the liberal one. I don’t trust them. I see a bamboozle. Joseph Smith genes still operate. (Never Mormon here)

  4. Listening now and I find Rebecca’s reporting on NY church is somewhat odd at best and ignorant otherwise. I grew up LDS and a military child who had church services in various buildings as a result of there not always being a large LDS community or even that church was on a US military base in foreign country. It is a slight to my LDS experiences and all military members that have worshipped in various settings shared sacred spaces all over the world not just for a one time instant but sometimes for years at a time. I was a member of primary in Keflavik, Iceland where for 4 years I attended with my family LDS church held at the DOD high school on the naval base. My sister had nursery in the home economic classroom, sacrament was in the
Gymnasium, and Sunday school classes were in regular classrooms.

    1. Hello, Maven here (and fellow army brat). I think it’s normal for small populations/branches (especially overseas) and I certainly had my share of Church services in other churches/schools, etc.

What’s unique is for multiple established wards in an area to do this, and in this case particularly, a VERY openly LGBTQ-friendly congregation and gay pastor.

  5. My wife and I recently attended church in an LDS Ward in Albuquerque enroute from south Texas to Utah. This was the third Sunday in November 2023 and the stake speaker was the Stake Primary President. She informed us that in their stake, the three female stake auxiliary presidents would be going into the speaking rotation with the members of the high council. She said the third Sunday would no longer be called high council Sunday but would be called stake council Sunday.
