  1. Southern Israel was Judah and Benjamin. It is strange that Lehi was from Manasseh when you consider that

  2. I heard of a young woman (“sister missionary”) whose patriarchal blessing said nothing about what was going to happen after her mission, so she believed that she was going to die soon after she got home from her mission. I don’t know whatever happened to her.

  3. My son recently got his blessing before leaving on his mission. I’m sure the patriarch was a nice guy, but all he could talk about is how successful he and his kids are. Somehow the fast that he has 3 houses, is on the board of a billion dollar company, his kid is a very successful attorney, and that he just bought his wife a new Mercedes Benz came up during his “pre blessing”. I don’t even know what the blessing said because I was too busy not puking… unbelievable where they get these guys. I wish I could get my family out of this cult.

    1. Wow, what a disturbing display of a lack of social intelligence. That’s insensitive, at the least. I hope it bothers the rest of your family. It was many years of poor, clueless, and harmful behavior from members that started to help me see what a mess TSCC was.

  4. I think it’s very harmful if specific things were said in a patriarchal blessing and if it’s not fulfilled he/she may blame themselves for not being worthy enough or righteous enough to receive those blessings promised in the patriarchal blessing.
My mom literally took her patriarchal blessing as her guide for life, she’s doing everything she can to make it happen. It’s just so very toxic. It’s absolutely horrible.
