Dr. Simon Southerton is an Australian geneticist and a former Mormon bishop who was excommunicated by the Mormon church after speaking too openly about his sincere problems reconciling Book of Mormon historicity and emerging DNA research about Native Americans.

Today we are launching a new series on Mormon Stories Podcast. Like with the John Larsen and Margi Dehlin (THRIVE Stories) series, Dr. Simon Southerton plans to appear monthly on Mormon Stories Podcast to explore the many ways in which Mormon Doctrine clashes with modern science.  The first episode covers the Mormon church teaching of The Creation.

We will be paying Simon for his work, but need your financial support to make this happen. If you want to support this series with Simon, please become a monthly donor to this campaign. You can donate here:

100% of your donations will go to support Simon.  Also, by donating, you will be sent a link to a free download of Simon’s new book on DNA and the Book of Mormon entitled “The Sacred Curse: How Native American DNA Exposes Mormonism’s Lamanite Myth.”  Thank you in advance for your support of this project with Dr. Southerton!!!

David Bridgstock, your brother is my friend. I’m from UK too and live in Canada. All the best to you and your wife and thank you for loving your brother enough to not disown him when he left the church – you and he are good men.

I am just beginning to listen to all the Mormon Stories and others. I donated and then signed up for a small monthly donation but it is a year late. I have been inactive for 40 years but pursued meditation and not any particular faith. I tried going back to Mormonism for 2 years but found I could not do what was expected . Since I found this discussion I have been blown away learning all I did not know what I did not know.
