Once again a great podcast. I really appreciated your conversation with Michael Easter. John, I have to comment and say (I am not usually one that comments on social media platforms even if I feel I have something to say) you really are the best host/commentator/interviewer that I have the privilege of listening to. You probably hear this a lot but I do appreciate your approach to interviewing and thoughtfully listening to guests before you respond.
I am not mormon and learned a lot from this site. I guess the recent events in the mormon church that you covered helped me discover your site.
I am a deconstructing evangelical christian (42 years in evangelical churches). Grew up Catholic, parochial elementary school and all.
I have been immersing myself in podcasts such as yours, New Evangelicals , Scientology sites, and other podcast, books, and blogs, ; trying to sort out my thoughts and beliefs. Still loving God and Jesus but How exactly I believe and what does this say of things I firmly believed in past that I have strayed from. I am also hopeful this makes me a better Hospice Nurse and person all around.
*big sigh* I think I am now on the process of reconstruction as opposed to deconstructing.
With all this said ….
The main point of this comment is …. I appreciate you, John, and your approach to helping people. :) gerianne
Wow. Thank you Gerianne. This means a lot. – John
Interesting topic. My daughter is a sophomore at UNLV. She was enrolled in one of Mr. Easter’s classes during the spring 2023 semester. She has a positive impression of him.
I was born and raised in the church (fifth generation) and married in the temple. I bailed on the phony religion in 2019. I give full credit to Mormon Stories for enlightening me. THANK YOU!!
